Hello there, the name’s Rose. I spend much of my time surrounded by fossils and minerals, as well as stargazing at night. With that said, palaeontology, geology, and astronomy practically run my life; though I enjoy all fields of science. I love maritime history as well, and have an obsession with ships; especially late 1800’s - mid 1900’s vessels. Frankly, I just love those time periods.
When it comes to Tumblr, I mainly discuss geology, palaeontology, and the RMS Titanic. My main focus on palaeontology is with the theropods in the Mesozoic (but not limited to). I started up a series of posts called Theropod Of The Day, to which I write about all different kinds of bipedal saurischian dinosaurs. It’s updated here and there as they do take time to write, and real life gets in the way with fossils and minerals needing care.
For other blogs, I solely run Geologise, and co-run Scinerds. I have a new blog called Science On!, dedicated to archiving the science blogs on Tumblr. If you run a science blog, go over and submit to join in!
I mainly watch science and history documentaries with other films and television shows in between, and I love to read science books. Yep, science rocks in my world. It is very important to me, and it’s just as important to spread the knowledge and love out there for it; especially in my two main fields (geology and palaeontology). If you ever have questions referring to either, feel free to send me a message and I will answer it when I have time.
For the ‘fandom’ stuff, I absolutely love Jurassic Park, Doctor Who, Harry Potter (Voldemort + Bellatrix), Pirates Of The Caribbean, Lord Of The Rings, LOST, Titanic (film + history), and whatever else I can’t think of currently. I will post anything that strikes my fancy as this is a personal blog; it is not dedicated solely to just one thing. I love the history of the White Star Line, and especially the RMS Titanic, to which it has now been 100 years since her demise. Her history and life means the world to me, just as palaeontology does. I have an undying love for Sam Neill (esp. as Dr. Alan Grant), Lord Voldemort, Bellatrix Lestrange, and River Song. Travelling the world is in my blood, and it is what I love to do most. Music is life (of course!) which mainly consists of soundtracks/scores, instrumental, classical, opera, Muse, Florence + The Machine, Loreena McKennitt, Imogen Heap, and Enya. Fin.
